VMS-SunEdits Racing given entry for the final two rounds at Zandvoort and the Norisring

The Grand Prix United organization has confirmed that VMS-SunEdits Racing has been given an entry for rounds 5 and 6 of the 2021-2022 Grand Prix United European Formula 3 Championship. Maltese driver Terence Grech will line up alongside Polish debutant Kacper Nizio to form the new driver pairing for the Dutch team. VMS-SunEdits Racing was founded in early 2021 by Gijs Sonneveld, and has received multiple successes in its short one-year existence. Whilst participating in several open-wheel and endurance championships, the team managed to achieve several wins and podiums. A high point for the team was the Dutch Indy 500 event, in which they managed to finish first, second and third. The team went for a mixture of experience and new talent for their Grand Prix United campaign. Maltese driver Terence Grech has participated in one round of the 2020 Grand Prix United European Formula 3 Championship, where he managed to get on the podium in race 2 at the Red Bull Ring. His latest outing was in the last round at Mugello, where he replaced Bradley Sellars at SimApex RT and scored two points on his return in the series. His team mate will be Kacper Nizio. The Polish driver has gained experience with open-wheel race cars in other competitions, and is looking to make his Grand Prix United debut in Zandvoort with VMS-SunEdits Racing.

Team founder and principal Gijs Sonneveld is no newcomer to Grand Prix United. He shares the task of running the team with a full-time drive in the series with Gallery82 Motorsport. This first hand experience in driving the car will surely benefit the team into making a great start in the championship. Gijs Sonneveld: "I'm very happy to be given an entry to the last two rounds of the 2021-2022 Grand Prix United European Formula 3 Championship. As a driver I've seen how well the league has been put together and I'm very excited to get my team involved in this series."
