Team Ferlic sign experienced British duo Stevens and McGaugie

Grand Prix United

Team Ferlic have announced that they have signed Tom Stevens and Owen McGaugie for their first full-time season in Grand Prix United, while also announcing Armando Iannaccone as the official teams' reserve driver. Both primary drivers are experienced in the league and have shown great potential during the 2020 F3 season. Stevens managed to secure his first podium in the league at the Red Bull Ring, before scoring a double podium during the third round of the season in Budapest. However, his highlight of the season came at Spa-Francorchamps, where he managed to finish the season in style by taking his first win in the final race of the season. He will surely be looking to maintain this momentum in the upcoming season of Grand Prix United, while also making the switch from Challenger Motorsport - formerly known as Team Falcon - to Team Ferlic. Tom Stevens: "I'm really excited to be racing for Team Ferlic in the upcoming Grand Prix United Asian F3 series. After a strong season last year, my aim will be to fight for more race victories. It is always good to be alongside great teammates like Owen and Armando, and I think that we can definitely achieve big things as a team." The other seat will be occupied by Owen McGaugie. The British driver finished his first season at Grand Prix United in a solid seventh place with Neptune Simracing, in which he achieved one pole-position and one race win for the team, as well as finishing in third place at the Macau GP for Royal Blue Racing. Owen McGaugie: "After racing with Neptune & Royal Blue last season, I am really looking forward to this new season with new cars. Alongside Tom and Armando - with Marko playing a big role as the team boss - I think I can add to my one win from last season and definitely help out Team Ferlic. I hope we can bring some great battles, and dare I say it, win races." Italian driver Armando Iannaccone will be the official teams' reserve. He made his debut with the team last year during the Macau Grand Prix, where he showed his ability and pace to be able to fight his way back into the top 10, after starting in last place due to a technical issue. Armando Iannaccone: "I'm very happy to return to the team for this new season of Grand Prix United, after my first appearance last year for the special event in Macau. Even though I'm the reserve driver this time around, I'm fully focused on working with my teammates to help them with the setup, race strategy and obviously to jump in the car if needed. I'm already looking forward to the first day of testing." Team principal Marko Ferlic is more than ready for his full-time debut in Grand Prix United, and also had something to say about the team and its drivers: "Joining with such a promising line-up is always exciting. I know what both Tom and Owen are capable of once they put their mind to it. It's clear that they have good chemistry and they're proving that together they can do big things." "This season in GPVWC they're fighting against the experienced drivers such as Luke Maguire and Chris Butcher and that proves how far they've come in just a year." "From a teams point of view, many people were doubting us going into 2021, thinking we can't achieve great things. But, we already managed to secure multiple podiums in both GPVWC and FSR this season and I'm confident this trend will continue in GPU. There are some negative people out there, thinking we can't pull it off, but we managed to prove a lot of those people wrong already. We know that other teams will bring very good line-ups as well, but we definitely fancy our chances of being up there, fighting for podiums."
