Scuderia Freccia Nera have announced that they will be retaining Luca Tizzano and Daan Hut for the 2021 Asian F3 Campaign, while also announcing Rienk Hoekstra as the official teams reserve. Both primary drivers have shown potential during the course of the 2020 F3 Championship. Team principal Luca Tizzano managed to score four points in the championship with an eight place at the Norisring. He will be looking to improve on that result in the 2021 Asian F3 season whilst battling for points on a regular basis. Luca Tizzano: "It feels great to be back for a second season. Last year we had some decent results, including several races where the team scored points. However, this season I want to step up the teams' performance and score more points than last season. Scoring a podium would be a great achievement for us and is definitely something we are striving for." "As for myself, I know that I have the potential of scoring points on a regular basis. I was able to show this last season when I started to pick up racing again, and improved consistantly as the season went on." Partnering him will be Daan Hut, who has gained a lot of experience in open wheel sim racing, aswell as endurance. The Dutchman will also be looking to improve on his solid 2020 season, in which he scored in half of the races and ended up with a total of nine points for the Italian team. Daan Hut: "After racing with the team last year it was nice to get back with them again for this season. It was nice to get to know the team and we had some good fun at the track. With the new season ahead, and also with a brand new car, I think that we will have a good shot at a higher place in the championship. I'm hyped for the season ahead and hope to maybe even get a podium for the team." Team principal Luca Tizzano also had something to add about his teammates: "Having had the opportunity to have Daan Hut racing for us in the 2020 F3 season and in other racing series, he was able to show his racecraft and strong pace. His skills, alongside the good atmosphere that he brings into the team, will help and achieve the targets that we set for the upcoming season." "Rienk has been picked up as a reserve thanks to his effort as a driver in last years' pre-season test. He also helped the team develop technical expertise from the second half of the season onwards. Rienk has a great professional attitude which further contributes into bringing a good working atmosphere into the team."
